The Portslade History Trail and Portslade Timeline was researched, written and produced by  a volunteer  group of Portslade residents. The trail offers a brief introduction into the fascinating  1000 year history of Portslade Old Village, rather than an in-depth academic examination. The trail focus on the Old Village conservation area, therefore does not contain information on sites such as Foredown Tower or the old Police Station.

The Portslade Timeline shows the development of Portslade from 1066 on a century-by-century basis. Once a larger and richer neighbour of Brighton and Hove, find out how Portslade developed over the last 1000 years.
